The Skittles brand has always been known for its offbeat commercials encouraging consumers to “taste the rainbow” in various ways, but its bizarre new Mother’s Day spot has the internet screaming a collective “WTF?!”
In the 30-second ad, a mother and her adult son are sitting on the couch together eating Skittles. In a pretty squirmy twist, it turns out that rather than eat some of the chewy fruit candies on his own, the son is tasting the flavors thanks to the umbilical cord that’s still firmly attached to both parties.
